Our L13- Tear Resistant fabrics are specially treated PTFE coated fiberglass fabrics offering all of the outstanding chemical and temperature resistance features of our Standard Fabrics with enhanced crease and tear resistance…as much as 5 times the tear strength of standard fabrics! Of course, there’s always a trade-off and in this case it’s a somewhat weaker bond strength when heat-sealed to itself. Some fabricated parts may require the addition of sewn seams or mechanical fasteners to take full advantage of the enhanced tear strength of these fabrics. L13-Series fabrics should be considered when fabricating parts. Typical uses include welder pockets for the vinyl window industry, splash curtains, insulation jackets, belting, separator sheets, etc…
